Senior IT Network and Systems Engineer

MCon is looking for a hands on Networking Engineer. As a Server System Administrator, you will support and administer the operations of our hosting environments. You will develop, implement and document configuration standards, policies and procedures for operating, managing and ensuring the security of all systems and network devices.
• Must have solid experience in setting up managing and maintaining Cisco Routers and Cisco Core-Switches
• Firewalls / VPN knowledge, preferable on Linux
• Must have good to advanced familiarity with Routing processes (OSPF) in a MPLS environment
• Must have good to advanced knowledge in high availability network configurations
• Hands-on Experience with setup & maintenance of a core network operations center incl. open source Linux network and security applications.
• Clear understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 is a plus…also experience with IPv4 to IPv6 production network environment.
• Support of core network services, including DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP services.
• Must have basic to advanced familiarity with Security infrastructure, including IDS/IPS.
• VIRTUALIZATION: Hands-on Administration of Virtual Machines running Linux/Windows within the VMware Virtual Infrastructure environment (ESXi / vSphere)
• Experience in running medium scale Linux/UNIX production environments, preferably as part of an online service provider environment – e.g. mailing and proxy servers
• Nice to have knowledge in Windows e.g. Active Directory
• Participate in business development efforts by providing technical expertise in support of the Global IT Team.
• Participating in cost estimations, project management, problem solving and leadership skills.
• Performs on call and emergency support to ensure high availability of critical IT services.
• Create and maintain network and systems documentation.
• Create and present project handoff technical documentation.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer science or Electronics or related areas – or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Network Systems Administrator
• CCNA / CCNP, Linux Certifications or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in English
• Strong technical skills
• Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
• Able to manage multiple projects, deadlines and activities and prioritize workload
• To be proactive and excel in a fast-paced environment with excellent problem solving and organizational skills
• Works well under pressure
