Reponsibilities:
The Booker is responsible for coordinating and managing guest booking for daily coverage and breaking news as well as long term planning. This role will be required to find and pitch day-to-day story ideas in concert with the vision of senior producers and management, help manage logistics for guests as well as manage futures planning for big concept ideas.
Requirements:
· 3+ years of experience at network or cable news outlet
· Significant contacts for researching and booking high profile guests
· News savvy and a deep interest in current domestic and foreign events
· Self-starter who demonstrates initiative and goes the extra mile
· Comes in each day brimming with ideas
· Has strong editorial judgment
· Able to manage competing priorities and multi-task throughout the day
· Fast-paced working pace, deal with intense deadline pressure and continually react to breaking news with smart programming and creative storytelling
· Willingness to work through breaking news situations
· Strong collaborative spirit
· Knowledgeable about social media and the competitive digital news environment.
