Retail Package Developer (Shanghai, China)
Our client, a world leading retail group with global operations, is looking for an Retail Package Developer for their Shanghai Offices.
The new hire will become a part of the company’s dynamic Merchandising Team.
Role Purpose:
The Package Developer will be designing artwork used on packaging primarily for the Australian market.
The Package Developer will be briefed on the targets and requirements.

Reporting To: Team Leader – Packaging Design
Role Location: Shanghai
Responsibilities:
This position will be designing artwork used on packaging primarily for the Australian market.
The Package Developer will be briefed on the targets and requirements.
Provide technical support to the Merchandising Team and suppliers on all packaging related matters
Develop packaging artwork based on the style guides
Evaluate packaging to ensure compliance to required standards
Create in-house packaging artwork when required
Help proof read all packaging
Provide support in creation of merchandise instruction manuals
Research trends and new packaging materials
Qualifications:
University graduate – Degree holder in packaging /graphic design
At least 2 years of experience in artwork development for retailers or brands
Acute awareness of commercial packaging requirements
Knowledge of packaging methodology relative to different products
Must be clear on how to translate style guides to appropriate packaging look
Ability to initiate and communicate technical solutions for packaging issues
Excellent communication / interpersonal skills & a team player
Proficiency in MS operations – Word/Excel & I-Mac Computer Photoshop, Illustrator
Have understanding of how photography should be styled for packaging an advantage
English language skills
