Location: West Beijing, China
Position background: Non-Chinese national only, full-time office based, work visa provided.
Company: Our client is committed to become a world video news agency, presenting China to the world as well as reporting the world to China.
Key responsibilities:
1-Review scripts for accuracy, style, balance and conformity. Check source material and ensure scripts are ready for air.
2-Edit copy to ensure scripts are easy to understand, interesting, creative and compelling.
3-Serve as a close adviser on editorial, grammar and news language issues.
4-Verify accuracy of all components of programs, including graphics and other editorial elements.
5-Correctly format scripts and view video and graphics to ensure scripts and images are in sync.
6-Take a proactive and diplomatic role in many aspects of program preparation.
7-Collaborate with other team members in order to help determine most creative and editorially accurate solutions.
Requirements:
1-Bachelor or Master degree of Journalism related major, with 2 years of relevant working experience after graduation is essential (2 yrs experience if BA degree only is a must due to visa regulation).
2-Native speaker of English required.
3-Editing experience with strong skills which includes accuracy, balance, language and style in broadcasting industries preferred.
4-Proven accomplished writer who thinks in visuals and working overseas experience preferred.
5-Extensive knowledge of current events, geopolitics and international relations, especially China and APAC countries.
6-Must be able to work irregular hours and work an extended schedule as the news cycle and deadlines require.
7-Proficiency with desk-top editing software a plus.
Other information:
1-Full-time office based and work visa sponsored.
2-Annual leave 28 days
3-Reasonable monthly base salary, year-end bonus, commuting allowance for overnight shift.
