Job description: Machine Learning Data Scientist / Software Engineer (Shanghai, China)
Red Pulse is a tokenized research ecosystem for China's economy and capital markets. The company incorporates its own cryptocurrency, RPX, to facilitate an open and transparent sharing economy for research, and is developing a machine learning-based matching engine to connect industry experts with institutions seeking market insights to make better business decisions. Ultimately, Red Pulse aims to solve the problem that we all face today: Information overload. We are currently accepting applications for the position of Research Analyst.
You are invited to apply your expertise in machine learning and programming to help us build and improve our fintech research platform. Your machine learning background, knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning (classification, clustering) and applications of different methodologies (Naïve Bayes vs Random Forest) will be utilized to help deliver relevant information to our business clients.
You'll be working in our office, located in central Shanghai, and working closely with the engineering and data science team.
Responsibilities:
• Write machine learning and NLP server-side production code that integrate with our engineering systems and platform.
• Build machine learning models that can extract information from unstructured text, classification & categorization, clustering / de-duplication
• Build ranking algorithms for news articles, research reports, user rankings & quality, NLP text sentiment algorithms, and filtering / recommendation algorithms
• Develop internal analytics tools
Requirements:
• Thorough understanding of machine learning algorithms, such as Naïve Bayes, Random Forests, and NLP
• Expert coding in programming languages, such as Python (SKLearn / SciPy / Numpy / Pandas), R, Scala
• Experience working with unstructured data
• BS or higher in Computer Science, Applied Math, Statistics, or quantitative field
• Communication skills in English
Bonus:
• Strong SQL / NoSQL and database design skills
• Experience with distributed processing tech (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Elasticsearch)
• AWS or cloud-based architecture experience
