Festival Collaborations & Creative Projects Assistant

Part-time at BREW & BLEND FESTIVAL in Shanghai

PROJECT:
Opportunity to join a team building the creative direction and programme for BREW & BLEND Festival 2016 (October 14-16) at Shanghai's most celebrated creative park - M50.

With 10,000+ visitors over 2 days in 2015 the festival has always endeavoured to produce not just an entertaining, but educational and engaging format for inspiring content, in the form of showcases, workshops, talks and interactive experiences.

Working with independent performers and storytellers, visual and installation artists, filmmakers and musicians, technologists, social entrepreneurs, chefs and designers of space, form and for the body – for our upcoming festival concept EXPLORING THE FUTURE WE SHARE – PERCEPTIONS, INSPIRATION AND OUR ABILITY TO SHAPE IT.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Creative / arts education or background
- An enthusiasm for innovation and new ideas
- Resourceful and good ability to research
- advanced level of English + Mandarin Chinese
- Positive, can-do attitude!
- Eager to experiment, express and collaborate!

SUMMARY:
- Assisting arts programming team to develop Brew & Blend 2016 festival (community arts event of 10,000+ visitors) schedule and individual artist collaborations.
- Communication and assisting project development with artists.
- Assisting creative direction team in developing ideas for the environment, visitor interaction and experience / narrative.

DETAILS OF ROLE: Festival Collaborations & Creative Projects Assistant

- Researching for suitable Chinese + Int organisations (artists / brand / non-profits)

- Meeting + confirming partnerships tbc (July-Aug)

- Working with team to develop creative programme (July-Aug)

- Working with team on artist organisation + programme tbc (July-Oct)

- Assisting team to develop ideas for the on-site festival experience (May-June)

- Assisting team to develop ideas for creative on+offline activation (May-June)

- Working with team on build-up programme / satellite events (Aug-Oct)
