AliExpress Middleweight/Senior Interactive Designer


AliExpress are hiring an international team of interactive designers for our lead¬ing B2C global e-commerce consumer marketplace.

This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the global expansion of our fast-growing platform. We are recruiting talented interaction designers from the following regions only:

BACKGROUND
Launched by Alibaba.com in 2010, AliExpress (www.aliexpress.com) is a leading global e-commerce marketplace made up of small business sellers that offer a wide variety of consumer products at great prices. With more than 40 million products in over 40 major product categories as of March 2013, AliExpress is dedicated to bringing unique products through our sellers to our 3.6 million registered buyers in more than 200 countries and regions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Work closely with product managers, content managers, marketing specialists, graphic designers, user experience researchers and front-end developers throughout the product development process.
 Establish high level conceptual models for product solutions.
 Conform to industry standard best practices for user interactions.
 Create wireframes, workflow diagrams, flowcharts and storyboards to illustrate early design ideas.
 Create comprehensive mockups and write up detailed design specifications for the development phase.
 Support front end development and engineering in the project’s development phase.
 Monitor the execution of the project through to delivery.


KEY SKILLS:

3 years+ interaction design experience. E-commerce or agency design experience preferred.

Proficient with wireframe/prototyping tools (Axure)
 Competent with all program’s functions and tools.
 Able to produce coherent, well-formed and consistent prototype/wireframe documents.

Rapid creation of concepts
 Ability to quickly conceptualize and produce prototypes that communicate broad scale of project and foresee potential issues.
 Possesses deep understanding of industry best practices to shape well-formed comprehensives.
 Consider how your comprehensives will affect design, development, content (copy) and delivery.


DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 Degree in interaction design preferred but not essential.
 Must have a portfolio of work with supporting raw files (e.g. Axure .rp files).
 Good understanding of information architecture and best practices of web design.
 Good creative thinking.
 Ability to communicate and work across different cultures.
 Understand the project’s commercial requirements.
 Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
 Ability to adjust designs quickly in response to project changes.
 Good project coordination skills, highly team spirited, can work to tight deadlines.
 Spoken/written English preferred, spoken Mandarin a bonus.
 A working understanding of HTML/CSS a bonus.

The Alibaba China headquarters is located in the beautiful city of Hangzhou, China.
