Role Summary/Purpose:The lead software engineer will work with a multidisciplinary team developing a vision for industry leading aircraft computing and network platform products. In this role, you will utilize your broad real time software development expertise to lead and execute major NPI software activities.
Essential Responsibilities· Understand avionics product requirements, and develop appropriate LRU level software architecture and requirements.
· Be involved in all phases of software development from requirements definition to production release.
· Work closely with electrical design engineers to ensure the product design will meet product specifications.
· Be responsible for software certification consistent DO-178B/C level A/B and other guidance.
· Make technical presentations to peers and managers on the details of your design and project status.
· Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
· Acquire, develop and maintain core product expertise and knowledge relates to integrated modular avionics and LRUs.
· Leverage cross-functional resources to maximize technical results.
· Supervise activities such as field issues and failures Investigations, root causes analysis and implementation of corrective actions, lesson learned issues and consequently design standards update.
· Build solid relationships with key Customers and suppliers.
Qualifications/Requirements:· Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related technical field of study
· Solid experinece in real time, embedded software development
. Experience in all phases of software development from requirements definition to production release
· Demonstrated experience with C++/C and assembly language programming in a real time embedded environment
Desired Characteristics· Knowledge or experience on avionics/LRU development is a major advantage.
· Safety-focused Software Architectures and high-level designs.
· Demonstrated experience with VxWorks and model based development.
· Integration experience (SW/SW, HW/SW, LRU, Systems, etc.).
· Understanding and experience of full software lifecycle with ability to consider over-all impact of decisions.
· Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in the development projects.
· Able to prioritize work, and communicate openly in stressful situations.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
