Progressive Specialty Glass Company, Inc., a leading supplier and manufacturer of customized souvenir drinking containers since 1977 has an immediate opening on our Global Sourcing Team. Our Global sourcing Office Representative position offers an exciting opportunity to live and work abroad in the bustling metropolitan city of Xiamen China. Xiamen offers all of the creature comforts of a Western City coupled with the enrichment of Asia’s ancient culture. We are looking for someone who will be able to work independently, meet deadlines and be a valued and trusted partner in our Xiamen, China office. As the Global Sourcing Representative, you will act as a liaison between our US and Overseas operations. The preferred candidate appreciates the opportunity for personal and professional growth, adventure, learning, overcoming challenges, and excels in independent environments.
Responsibilities
- Represent Progressive Specialty Glass with suppliers.
- Follow-up production orders and implement challenge solutions.
- Execute directives, priorities, and initiatives with suppliers.
- Monitor procurement procedures according to company policies and guidelines.
- Source items and oversee the development of suppliers.
- Oversee the implementation and adherence to company compliance rules.
Requirements
- Willingness to travel internationally and live in China.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Business or Sociology preferred.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency along with general computer literacy.
- An understanding or basic familiarity with Sage 100 v. 2016, Crystal Reports & ACT a plus.
- Trustworthy, positive, self-driven, and independent with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
- Sourcing, supply-chain, trade, and/or manufacturing experience a plus.
