Junior Operations Manager

Full-time at Vericant in Beijing



Position:
The Junior Operations Manager role is position for someone a bit of management experience, both in managing people and in managing projects. You will have to learn our system inside and out, to be able to do everything that a more junior level employee can do, and to think systematically to organize processes to boot. This position allows for professional development, acquisition of new skills, an opportunity to strengthen your management skills, all within an international and multilingual work environment.

The role of an Junior Operations Manager is comprised of four parts: managing projects, and managing people, and responding to the unknown. One day, you might be lead your team to get to the root of a video exporting error, and the next you could be guiding a direct report to design a system for scheduling interviews. In a given week you might plan a pilot project for a new product, coach and mentor junior staff, or create a backup plan for what to do if an interview location doesn’t meet our quality standards.

As an Senior Operations Associate, you will:
Manage up to five staff directly
Oversee a section of our Operations department, either Pre-Interview or Post-Interview.
Coordinate the tasks of direct reports relating to all aspects of interviewing and processing, including scheduling/logistics, capacity planning and hiring, and employee growth/development

Candidates should possess these traits:
Experience working in mainland China and demonstrated ability to work cross-culturally
Exceptionally warm and friendly interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable using G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar)
A bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college
Ability to take initiative and work independently
Native English speaker from USA or Canada
Resourceful & constantly seeking to improve
Excellent attention to detail and consistency
Comfortable English and Mandarin ability
Comfortable accepting feedback
Experience managing projects
Experience managing staff

Ideal candidates will also possess some of the following attributes:
Familiarity with China/America study abroad trends and/or international admissions
A bachelor's degree in Chinese, East Asian Studies, or a related field
High level of conversational Mandarin Chinese
