We are a world-wide manufacturer representing two of the leading fast-fashion women’s wear companies in the UK. We employ over 300 staff in 3 countries.
Position
We are looking for a Fashion Designer (Women’s Fashion) to work in our Guangzhou Office.
Normal working hours are 9am-6pm Monday-Friday however you will be expected to pick up additional hours during busy periods or to cover staff absence.
Responsibilities
Creating new and unique concepts based around women’s fast fashion (18-28 year old) including party dresses, evening wear and casual wear.
Managing design development from initial concept and sourcing all the way to finished sample product.
Managing unique fabric or accessory development with quick turnarounds.
Planning design/sample development schedule on a daily & weekly basis.
Organising sample section to achieve efficient and organised sample development.
Assisting Creative Director in Pantone colour selection.
Assisting Creative Director in Fabric type selection.
Assisting in the fitting of sample garments.
Education
You should be educated to degree level in a relevant fashion or textiles subject area or have more than 2 years experience.
Experience/Skills

You MUST be fluent in English
Experience with women’s fashion in a Western environment or Asian company supplying garments to the West.
Experience in fashion design and garments development in a factory setting.
Experience in fitting garments and or assisting in the improvement of garment fit.
Ability to plan and schedule in an organised and sensible manner.
Ability to work under time pressure.
Ability to multi-task the development of 10-20 concurrent samples.
Eye for detail and something of a perfectionist.
Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
Bonus Points
Ability to speak basic or intermediate Mandarin.
Interest in Western style women’s fast-fashion.

Competitive salary dependant upon experience: ($24,000+) plus benefits.
