QA Engineer (Mechanical Engineer)

Full-time at ICI USA, LLC in Shenzhen




Experience Requirements
• 7 plus years work place experience related to quality assurance, product development, & manufacturing
• Expert knowledge of U.S./EU product compliance requirements
• Proven Risk assessment in these areas: product, production and supplier
• International communication expertise in the English language
• Experience developing product via Contract manufacturing management (kitchenware experience preferred)

Job Skills & Traits
• BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, and Operations Engineering preferred)
• Very good working knowledge of various production methods and 3D CAD tools, strong computer skills to include Excel and Outlook.
• Strong negotiation skills with manufacturers and sub-contractors to ensure quality product is continually produced.
• Professional, highly organized. Strong troubleshooting and independent problem solving expertise, solution oriented. Ability to multi-task and deliver to set deadlines.
• Passionate about how product is developed and manufactured
• Flexible, self-starter, relentlessly resourceful with extreme attention to detail

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for Risk Assessment of Suppliers, Product Mechanics and Production Processes
• Work closely with FCR and ICI teams to manage all Quality Assurance across supply chain
• Debug industrial, electrical and mechanical design issues
• Support U.S. project managers by investigating and setting quality specifications for product during development and production. Lead final negotiations with specific BOM optimization
• Oversee safety compliance testing specifications and procedures to ensure legal market requirements are met; manage & define necessary tests
• Manage schedule of factory audits, ensuring the factory is well prepared for upcoming audits and responds with quick solutions to required CAP.
• Oversee the database upkeep of ICI owned tooling via photographic evidence and work with factory to maintain current tooling maintenance records
• Take the lead role on continuous quality improvement of ICI product to include proactive suggestions to factory and follow up to ensure running change is made.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to the U.S. office; efficient and fast responses to daily emails
• Manage direct reports; provide training, daily supervision, mentoring, coaching & performance reviews.
