Sixth Tone is seeking a full-time video editor to work on producing and editing videos for our social media platforms.
Ideal candidates will have experience creating content specifically for social media. They will have strong news judgement and be able to work well with people from across the company, including reporters, editors, and videographers.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Creating video content bespoke for our various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
- Editing videos from our website to fit on various social media platforms
- Filming and editing short interviews
- Live-streaming
- Editing inforgraphic and animated explainer videos
Strong written English and translation ability is preferred.
Candidates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to edit and publish to tight deadlines is also required.
Candidates may occasionally have to work outside usual office hours.
Must be proficient in PR, AE, and FCP.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for telling stories about China to an international audience.
Candidates will be expected to present a short portfolio of previous work, including material created for social media which demonstrates data visualization capabilities.
