Online news portal Sixth Tone is seeking a full-time graphic designer to work on producing illustrative content for breaking news and stories for our social media output.
Tasks will include, but not be limited to:-
Editing photos
Creating social-friendly inforgraphics
Creating social-friendly graphs and charts
Creating short animated information videos and gifs
Ideal candidates will have experience creating content specially for social media, and be familiar with the fast pace of online content creation. Candidates must be fluent in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and illustrator.
Professional work experience is not essential. However, candidates must demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for telling stories about China to an international audience.
Mandarin is desirable but not required. Formal journalistic experience or qualifications are not required. Candidates will be expected to present a short portfolio of previous work, including material created for social media which demonstrates data visualization capabilities.
