Job Title: Primary Education Teacher

JOB CONTENT
Wycombe Abbey International Schools, WAIS, are holistic, co-educational British boarding schools that run a hybrid China/ U.K. curriculum for Chinese families and expatriates. Our pupils, from 3 – 18 years, are within the China education system, receive a Xueji (学籍) from the China Education Bureau and attend universities overseas. We provide a challenging and safe environment where pupils develop into confident, critically thinking individuals equipped for a successful future.
Changzhou is a city of approximately 3 million people located in Jiangsu Province approximately an hour’s train journey from Shanghai. According to some China city reviews Changzhou is rated among the best of China’s C level cities for living.
The International School campus, possesses excellent facilities for teaching , academic subjects, arts, music and sports. It is located close to a scenic lake area of the city.
Responsibilities include:
• Teaching subject: Primary teaching specialists
• Assume ownership for the classroom and students' success
• Consistently communicate high expectations
• Teaching of the British education system
• Establishes instructional and non-instructional procedures starting on the first day of school
• Manage student behavior through clear expectations and firm and consistent responses to student actions
• Write lesson plans for every school day
• Attend professional development training offered by the school
• Provide specific feedback to students (verbal, nonverbal, written)
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
• English language of native English speaking ability
• BA degree or advanced degree or equivalent in subject preferred
• Previous full-time teaching experience as a school teacher
• Boarding school experience preferred
• A certificate level of PGCE or equivalent qualification preferred;

• Able to deliver classes in fun and creative ways
• Experience of working in a multicultural environment
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Highly organized and punctuality

• Treats students equally and fairly
• Ability to adjust the delivery and pacing of the lesson in response to student cues
