About the role
This is a an incredible opportunity to join the Shanghai office of a rapidly growing international business with
locations in across 10 locations including London, New York and Hong Kong and has been featured on CNN, Financial
Times, and Forbes. Intern Shanghai is looking for a talented, ambitious and driven individual to join our first-class
international team devoted to providing international students with great internships and learning experiences
abroad.
As an events and community coordinator you will have a diverse role and will be responsible for a wide range of
responsibilities. Your role will be essential to the success of our business as you will be responsible for ensuring all of
our participants have an amazing time in Shanghai . This is a unique role, offering the chance for a fun and outgoing
self starter to socialise, network a have lots fun with participants from all over the world.
Responsibilities include:
● Planning and managing all of the awesome events and excursions. These include weekend trips to Macau,
drinks at the Ozone bar, and Lantau island day tour, dinner at the peak, junks and lots more. Types of
responsibility include:
○ Planning and hosting events
○ Sourcing new service providers and negotiating bulk discounts
○ Ensuring all events are booked at the right time for the right number of participants
○ Post event evaluation
● Community welfare. Acting as the first point of contact for all Shanghai programme participants from the
moment they arrive in Hong Kong to the moment they depart.
● Accommodation logistics. Ensuring our accommodation providers are aware of all incoming participants and
that appropriate accommodation has been reserved
○ Supporting participants with any questions they have about their accommodation and liaising with
accommodation partners to resolve any issues
○ Helping to source new accommodation partners
● Management of the Intern Shanghai social media platforms. This is the core part of managing and
interacting with the community. You will be responsible to ensure that this group is kept dynamic and fun
by:
○ Posting info about Shanghai such as cool bars for after-work drinks, good restaurants, places to
visits, fun things to do etc.
○ Managing event participants through organising the event using the events function
○ Ensuring that all programme participants are added to the group prior to their arrivals in Shanghai
○ Post messages welcome / goodbye messages to arriving / departing participants etc
● Finally, be sociable, fun, and simply a great host in this incredible city!

participants as well as how to improve our communications and make our processes more efficient.
Package
