General Manager, sourcing company based in Guangdong, China.
A small Westen-owned China-based sourcing company located in Zhuhai (Guangdong Province) requires a General Manager with a manufacturing engineering background and significant experience.
You will have significant autonomy to develop, motivate and manage a team of around 15-20 Chinese employees (engineers, customer service & quality control) to ensure on-time delivery of products at the right quality to overseas clients. Part of your role will be to mentor and train local staff, as well as develop new improved operational processes and ensure compliance with systems. You will monitor the risk of all manufacturing projects and take appropriate mitigation steps, and respond quickly to any quality or timeliness issues. You will be the key technical contact for staff and clients with manufacturing related issues. You will also work with marketing, sales and clients to develop new business relationships and strengthen existing ones.
Requirements:
Near-native level English
10+ years manufacturing engineering experience
5+ years experience working in Asia in manufacturing-related role
10+ years management experience, at least 5 years in senior management
5+ years experience managing a small organisation (less than 50 people)
Advantages:

Fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
Travel: You will need to travel in Guangdong around 10% of your time, other provinces in China around 10% of your time, and overseas around 2% of your time.
Compensation:
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive package to around RMB600,000 or equivalent foreign currency (depending on skills & experience) including salary, bonuses, annual flight home and holidays. A minimum 2 years contract will be offered, with minimum 6 months notice required for termination after the probation period.
