Design Engineer

Full-time at Pestech Sdn. Bhd. in Wuhan

Pestech Sdn. Bhd. is an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) Contractor in the power transmission and distribution business. We have capabilities to provide in-house turnkey electrical & civil engineering design and products and systems for EHV/HV/MV substation. Presently we have turnkey projects on-going in Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Brunei, Papua New Guinea, Ghana and East/West Malaysia.

In line with our expansion and growth, we are seeking for independent, innovative and resourceful individuals with relevant working experience in electrical EHV/HV/MV substation business areas to take up new job challenges in all the countries.

Design Engineer (Substation Secondary Design)
Responsibilities:
• Provide secondary electrical design engineering, including concept and detailed design task, preparation of report and engineering calculations.
• To handle the EHV/HV substation design projects independently
• Familiar with Secondary design deliverables and required to produce design deliverable specification such as
• Ability to interface with EHV/HV equipments including transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, CT/VT, protection relays, SCADA and switchboards etc.
• Ability to create designs in accordance with relevant authority requirements, specification, and knowledge on International Standard & Codes in different parts of the world will be an added advantage.
• Provide technical support as required for Client
• Ability to manage design related issues.
• Candidate is expected to be familiar with Single Line Diagram, Control and Protection Logic Block Diagram, cable block diagram, Multicore Cable Schedule, Single Line Diagram, Schematic Drawing, Wiring Diagram, Panel Arrangement for control/Protection panels, Local Control Cubicle and Switchgear.
• Familiar with CT/VT calculation, AC/DC loading and cable sizing calculations.
• Experienced in working within project environment and support the project team.
• To assist and provide support and supervision during commissioning phase.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Post Graduate degree will be an added advantage
• Experience in substation design of engineering requirements of EHV/HV projects.
• Strong understanding of design drafting software, preferably AutoCAD.
• Good spoken and written English
• Highly adaptable, self motivated and team player.
• Willing to travel as required by the project.

Design Engineer (Substation Primary Design)
Responsibilities:
• Provide primary electrical design engineering, including concept and detailed design tasks, preparation of reports and engineering calculations
• Emphasis on high voltage design of earthing systems, busbar/conductor sizing, power transformers, HV/MV cables, primary plant layout and detailed design for transmission and distribution networks including substations and switchyards
• Ability to create designs in accordance with relevant International Standards (IEC) and local authority requirements
• Provide technical support as required to Client operations
• Manage design related projects
• The ability to respond quickly and flexibly to changing circumstances, amending your design solutions accordingly.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Post Graduate degree will be an added advantage
• Experience in safety systems and earth grid designs including knowledge of primary plant as used in substations rated up to 500 kV
• Strong understanding of design drafting software, preferably AutoCAD
• Knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and etc)
• Good spoken and written English
• Willing to travel on business as required
