The job
Shaoxing International School is now recruiting foreign English teachers to join our team. Are you looking for an exciting new challenge in a unique environment? We have the first international school in Shaoxing approved by the Shaoxing County Education Bureau. This means you will be teaching students aged 3 to 12 years old from a range of countries, living in China.
We have operated in the education industry for 8 years and have a newly built school specially designed to meet the needs of our international students. This means cutting edge teaching resources, a Cambridge curriculum and course materials and computer assisted learning.
Our small class sizes mean teachers can focus more time on each students’ individual needs and makes classroom management that much easier. We encourage a range of teaching approaches, including the communicative approach as well as task based learning. Ideally you will have experience teaching the IGCSE system.
If you are energetic, have a passion for teaching, have at least 1 years experience with young learners and are looking for a school where your work will make a real difference to students’ lives then we would love to hear from you.
Shaoxing – The city
Keqing is the capital of Shaoxing county with a population of over a million. It is located in Zhejiang province on the east coast of China, just 2 hours train ride from Shanghai.
Although the city appears quite simple and peaceful, the economy here has been developing rapidly, especially with regards to the textile industry. With a history of thousands of years, Shaoxing is renowned for the abundant tourism resources including cultural relics like the Yu the Great Mausoleum and many residences of famous figures in Chinese history. Shaoxing is also famous for its water and bridges, it was named recently as one of the most attractive cities of China, especially its many beautiful gardens.
Shopping And entertainment mix the traditional elements of Chinese culture with new and modern bars and shopping centers. Plenty to appeal to all kinds of tastes.

Main Responsibilities
• Maximum of 20 hours teaching per week
• Lesson planning
• Use audio / video materials in classes
• Cooperate with the CM and DOS in ensuring the constructive communication and efficient operation of the centre
• Assist in the placement testing and interviewing of new students
• Carry out teaching related responsibilities including, but not limited to demonstration classes, conversation clubs, tutorials, seminars and presentations
• Attend centre social events
Compensation
• Excellent salary: 7,000+ RMB per month
• Free accommodation: Western style, near the school, computer and internet included
• Flight allowance: 10,000 RMB half payable after 6 months, half after 12 months
• Legal ‘Z’ work visa
• Free meals at the school cafeteria
• 12 days public holidays plus 15 days extra holidays
• Insurance
• On-going training and academic support

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree
• TEFL certificate
• Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa
• At least 1 years young learners teaching experience
