The Job
We require a talented or experienced senior teacher/Director of Studies for a successful language school in beautiful Changchun. We are part of a successful franchise group, we have 25 foreign teachers here and this is a busy school. This is an ideal position for a qualified foreign Manager with an interest in Asian culture.
If you are currently looking for a new challenge, we invite applications from senior teachers and Directors with excellent experience and people skills. A passion for teaching, mentoring staff and leadership is required, you must have a strategic approach to what you do.
To be considered for this position you must have:
• senior teaching/management experience
• excellent communication skills, patience and work ethic
• great people skills with both foreign teachers and local staff
• A passion for teaching and an acute understanding of teaching theory
• A proven track record in education, management or HR.
• a desire to add value to a successful language school with 25 foreign teachers
• A systematic approach to everything you do
• Solid IT skills with experience with Microsoft office (word, PowerPoint, excel, outlook)

Changchun – The city
As the capital city of Jilin province, just 6 hours train ride from Beijing, Changchun is a key economic, cultural and political center. The city hosted the 2007 Winter Asian games and many people enjoy skiing and ice skating during the Winter. As for historical scenic spots, a must-go is the Puppet Imperial Palace, the home of Pu Yi, the last emperor of China. It was then selected as the site to film The Last Emperor. As for natural scenic spots, South Lake is the second largest park in China by area.
Changchun offers various products reflecting both tradition and fashion and draws a mixture of influences from Japan and Russia.

Courses
Popular with teachers and students alike, the courses are aimed at a range of ages and abilities. The main focus is on young learners aged 7 to 14, although adult and business English classes are also offered. The class sizes are kept small, to an average of 8-12 students which allows for noticeable progress to be made and also makes classroom management that much easier.
Course books are accompanied by a wide range of supplementary materials - flashcards, posters, handouts, CD’s, videos, songs and in-class computer applications, all essential for teachers to deliver varied, engaging classes. Most of the schools have now installed interactive whiteboards which add an exciting new dimension to how you can teach.

-Scheduling and timetabling
-Administrative reports
-School development and operation
-Attending professional development seminars and DoS training sessions.
Compensation
--Competitive salary: negotiable depending on experience
--Furnished accommodation near the school (not shared)
--Flight allowance: 9,000RMB
--Visa and local residential permits arranged
--Paid vacation: 15 working days plus all Chinese public holidays (usually 2 weeks per year)
