Private Teacher for 3-year old - Working in Anhui, China

Full-time at ENF Ltd. in Anhui, China

Teacher for 3-Year Old Boy, Anhui, China

We are a family in Wuhu, Anhui, China looking for a European teacher.

We have 2 British children, a 3 year old boy and a 1 year old boy, and both parents are busy running a renewable energy company in the city. The family has 2 full-time teachers and a few part-time teachers. We would like to find a European teacher to take over the education of our 3-year old.

The 2 current Chinese teachers are paid 2000RMB/month to work 6 days/week (they are university graduates, fluent in English) - and we are looking to hire a European teacher at a rate of 3500RMB/month to work 5 days/week - work time is from 8.30am to 6.30pm (when a part-time teacher will take over). We will also pay the visa and flight costs (candidate pays initially, and then is refunded after staying 6 months), and we will provide accommodation (a 3 bedroom apartment shared with 2 other Western staff from our main renewable energy company). The minimum working time is 6 months, but of course we will be happy for the teacher to stay for longer.

Requirements:

- Fluent English (fluent please, not 'quite good’)

- Educational or childcare background relevant to a 3-year old would be a strong plus

- Good imagination to invent interesting educational games

- Musical ability a plus

- Ability to cook nice meals for the children a plus (but not necessary, as mentioned we usually get restaurants food delivered each day)

- Non-smokers only

- Female candidates only (we feel male teachers would be more suitable when the children are older)

Other job details:

- Teach reading, writing, simple mathematics, simple computer skills (he can use mouse and keyboard already)

- Teacher needs to be friendly & loving but also strict

- Crafts and arts should also be played

Please note that this job is in 'real China’ where there are very few foreigners, and you will need to get used to everyone staring at you as you walk down the street. The city has over 1 million people, but you can walk around the city the whole day and not see another foreigner. There are Chinese university students to make friends with in the city, but the lack of other foreigners means it will be quite a strong culture shock for anyone who hasn’t spent time in a developing country.

The city has some foreign brand supermarkets and Western fast food chains - as well as many department stores and shops with fixed prices so shopping is not too challenging (although not many restaurants have picture menus, so learning some Chinese is certainly helpful).

We are looking for the teacher to arrive within 1-2 months.
